The Free Range Myth

So often terms like "free-range" and "cage-free" are used to label products like eggs. Sadly these terms are nothing more than marketing ploys used to trick customers into thinking that they are making a better choice. Many farms around the world that have been approved as "free-range", "cage-free", etc. have been shown to be keeping the chickens in atrocious conditions.
These eggs are in every store and are mixed up with other eggs that do come from animals treated well, there is no way that you can be sure if the eggs you are buying are coming from somewhere with atrocious conditions. The only way that you can get guaranteed cruelty free eggs is if you get them yourself from your own pet chickens or you purchase them from a local hen sanctuary. Otherwise avoid eggs and egg products at all costs.
