We have decided to ditch the term "vegan diet" in favor of the term "cruelty-free diet". Why? Let me explain:A vegan diet IS a cruelty-free diet, so why not call it such? The term cruelty-free is much more to the point and is highly thought provoking as it makes people question how their lifestyle isn't cruelty free. The term vegan also implies that it is a healthy diet of fruit and veg - this is highly misleading and just isn't the case anymore - Oreos are vegan, fries are vegan, and you probably wouldn't class those as 'fruit and veg'.
And in recent years due to the high popularity of the raw vegan health diet the term vegan has become commonly mistaken for meaning health, due to this many people struggle to understand that not all of us are in it for our own health which leads to huge problems when advocating for a cruelty free lifestyle.
Additionally, the term vegan has grown to be hated due to bad activists creating a negative stereotype of us as being judgemental and thinking that we are better than everyone else.
From today onwards, we will be using the term cruelty-free diet instead of vegan diet in all our activism and we hope that you will join us in doing so too!
